A SENTIMENTAL MOOD was founded by cinematographers Katja van den Broeke and Tjerk Muilwijk, it was born from a mutual belief that true creativity begins with a shared vision. What unites them is not just a love of film, but an instinctive understanding of what should be quietly seen and felt.

Katja and Tjerk are not only both cinematographers, but also partners in life and parents to a young daughter. Their personal bond naturally strengthens their creative collaboration, giving them a shared way of looking, thinking and feeling that flows into the work they make together.

They believe that a story flourishes when its idea, tone, and imagery are shaped by the same eye from the very beginning. ​With this in mind, they create work that is precise, poetic and timeless where concept, storytelling and cinematography speak the same language from the very start.
